Fresh and exciting

I have a new found appreciation for Thwomps now. I like how simple the game is, and it's comical how you peek into the hero's cunning as he attempts to thwart the thwomp, which makes this very memorable. It's really clever how you transferred the role of the player from hero to adversary, and gave the spike trap a story. I especially appreciate that the story was told with imagery and not some lengthy boring prologue.

disappontment at first...but it grows on you.

Starts off slow, but it does set the mood and pace. You have to hold the left mouse button down for a long time to get the guy moving down the road, then up a tower, I hate having to do this every level. But it is pretty funny when the guard slaps you if you stop walking for too long.

I would pretty much avoid using the "S" Key, I hit it on accident during the beginning and the game went to a white screen and froze.

Gameplay: You play pipedream for a while, but with chains. If you don't connect all of the chains to the bottom links....People fall to their death! It's kind of amusing when the people call out to you and say "Woof!" and "Don't worry Sis, Turin will save us." Sadly, whether they live or die has no effect on the outcome, you already have a good story, but that would have made it great.

Nejuf responds:

Oops, sorry about the "S" key problem. It should be fixed now. Thanks for the feedback.

Speechless.

This is what American Ouendan should have been. Not Elite Beat-Off Agents. I liked the country music one. The animation was funny. The best part, is that you're just trying to play the game, then all of a sudden a chicken or a unicorn does something in the background that makes you laugh. I agree, the black guy's song cuts out short. Also, the difficulty is arranged in an odd way. Usually it goes easy to hard not the other way around. I also would have liked it better if there was a REPLAY button so you could watch how you played, because the animations were hilariously distracting to the point where my stomach was in knots.

Pretty cool

The game over cut scenes are really original, and that's what makes me like this game. You obviously spent a lot of time making this game your own. Characters move a little too fast, without the laser it is pretty much unplayable. Lastly, draw something a bit better,

Not very good, but pretty close

The pong physics are nonexistent.
The ball manages to always bounce off my opponents panel even though he clearly missed.
Is there any real difference between easy and hard mode?
Height of stage is too short for a good pong game; pong is more difficult when your panel is either too small, too slow, or too far away from one side of the screen to be able to get to the other side.
At least give us a way to get back to the main screen so we can select different modes of play.

TheCriminalDuder responds:

Sorry theres no back button.
It is easier and harder. The AI moves faster in the hard difficulty.
The top and bottom of the sprites count as the paddle - so what ya think is a miss might not be one.

My favorite type of game!

One thing though. You should put a limit as to how long your dino's name is, because it messes up the intro when the name is too long.

CannedMeat responds:

Probably. But I dont have any knowledge on how to go about doing that.

And long names come with obvious concequences like that anyway.

Very cool

Great use of AS3's Jpeg Encoder for the save button. I don't think I've seen anybody do that on NG yet. Other than that though, I thought it was stupid that the face could wear a moustache on top of a moustache.

Confused? Why wouldn't I be.

All in all it's got good controls, and it is fun, so as much as I'd like to give it a bad review I can't. But for what it's worth, its use of Ben 10 as the central character is underutilized, or unsuitable. Ben doesn't use magic in the show (but his cousin Gwen does). The enemies are generic and not even alien, which is a terrible oversight seeing as how Ben 10 has movie monster aliens. I guess the gravity defying pumpkins fit in with the halloween theme, and as a gamer, I suppose I can suspend my disbelief in this phenomenon as I do with coins, except it isn't really explained why I must collect them. Wouldn't it make more sense to collect candy, seeing as how that's what you do for halloween? Maybe it's asking too much to allow Ben to go hero, or have a powerup that randomly turns you into an alien that you didn't want to be, but any use of the omnitrix would have been welcomed. You would still have a great game without Ben 10, the juxtaposition of the character with the rest of the game is what confuses me. Take Mario Bros. for example, it's a great game, but it would have a very different feel if you replaced mario with captain planet. Sure it would be funny, but I just can't picture the guy stomping on turtles and blowing up 16th century castles (now that's a thought).

Much better!

But I still think that beer should be poured into a glass, and not on the floor.

Wah wah wah....

I can already do that, and without spilling it everywhere. That beer looked like beef noodle soup without the noodles.

HomerSexual responds:

I can tell you have never seen beef noodle soup without the noodles before.

Like a Baldrick do!
