T E T R I S ' D: The Game

"Very Addicting"

date: October 11, 2009

Good music, and the controls were nice. I liked the "Flip & Roll" abillity. I just used that instead of jumping.

Would have liked to have seen the screen fill up with blocks and make a loud squelchy sound when you got a gameover, like in the gameboy one.

Pretty good Joe, I don't see how people aren't getting the reference to Curious George, but maybe you could draw the man in the yellow hat more like the man in the yellow hat.

Anyway Joe, you're fucking hilarious. Remember that time you didn't want to put all that shit away so you put it in a shopping cart and put a HOLD tag on it for John Doe, and hid it in the furthest corner of the wherehouse? Needless to say, the manager totally beat your ass when he found out.

Anyway... I love the cinematic quality, the sound is good, I like the interactive controls.

The story is hilarious from the very beginning, but was a weak ending when you showed the man in the yellow hat being killed during credits and no sound. While a cool effect, it is nonetheless tacky to have the movie end while it is playing. Dramatic to have no sound, but since it started out funny, I think I was let down by the dramatic end. Similarly when george is just offed, it was kind of lame because all it showed was him being dead and no real struggle, no joke at the end.

Anyway, keep up the good work, I think we need to see more animations from you. It's hard to say what kind of cartoonist you will become, or what kind of storyteller for that matter. I suggest that your writing should run parallel to your artistry as well.

Great skill in animation, you just need to spend a little more time on telling a story.

Shrubbery.

"Great game!"

submission: Shrubbery.
date: June 5, 2008

Perfect music, flawless controls, hard, fun, and innovative game.

fix the glitch that allows you to move off the screen (easy to fix). A little more plot would be nice. Health does not regeneratee fast enough and that is a problem, or perhaps you could add pickups to regenerate health. Weapons?

Definitely add more levels, and more bosses, otherwise upgrades are completely useless since you're pretty much forced to put it all in speed or seed.

FPA: World 2 demo

"This games is awesome!"

submission: FPA: World 2 demo

Wow this definitely has a lot of style, and the physics are well thought out, I love the wall jump, and using the enemies as weapons as with the snail. Very creative. If this is just the demo, I can't wait to see what other crazy things you'll add. The only part that could be fixed is the part where the character lifts himself up a ledge; every time I see that his hair disappears.

Really really cool.

[old] Avoid version 1

"THAT GAME WAS TOTALLY AWESOME!"

date: March 13, 2007

I loved the random circles flying around, I didn't know what to do. I don't know if it's luck or skill, but I managed to get to 2067! I loved the music, that was a good choice.

What if you combined this game with Raiden and had enemies that moved like that instead of just flying past you? That would be cool.

The only thing that should be changed, is the way the maincharacter looks, because it looks too much like the enemies and that's confusing.

I like it because it reminds me of traditional videogames because it forces you to try to get a better score and then rub it in your friend's face until he gets a better score.

I would also add gifts or messages at the end, so that if you lose it tells you that you suck because you couldn't get to 1000, or it makes fun of you until you prove how awesome you are at avoiding circles.

Can't wait to see the sequel.

The Night It Came ALIVE

"A good opening scene."

date: September 28, 2006

oooh! I like! It has this ren and stimpy feel towards the beginning.

A little disappointed because that mad doctor is getting way too worked up and nothing happens. Of ocurse, that's comedy!

Not sure that 2 MB's really equals this, (You can generate size report, in publish settings) and I'm sure it's the sound that's doing it more than the graphics.

All in all , I love the illustration, and I love the scene transitions the most. Can't wait to see what you'll be up to in the next few months. Keep at it! Also, wondering if you're using some other program with flash, like Adobe Illustrator, just wondering.

Sonic: Nazo Unleashed Pt1

"THAT WAS AWESOME! TOTALLY SWEET!"

date: August 15, 2006

That was really good! That was totally sonic, except sonic would not have given a shit if tails was killed. He'd be like, "Whateva, just don't get in my way." Finally someone found a fitting use for tails! How did you do that one camera effect that blurred the foreground or the background? I think more animation should use stock film techniques like that. I also like the fact that it is very DBZ-like because most people don't realize that Sonic was created before DBZ; if anything, the super-saiyan should be credited to super sonic and so should the raised hair. Good animation, Tails dies, what more could an NG user ask for?

Author's Response:

Thanks for the review! That technique is called a "Rack focus" and with flash 8's new filter features, I just had to blur one layer while unbluring another.

However, if Wikipedia is right, Dragonall Z was first (aired?) in 1989 while Sonic 1 came out in 1991 and had not turned into Super Sonic until Sonic 2.
